@@bojciowarrior was the worst lmao only knew 4 moves he was Goldberg before Goldberg a smasher who could not wrestle a lick Brett hart was the wrestler
@@mcconkeymudmotorsports949 such a boring, meltzer-esque abroach, counting how good a wrestler is by the amount of "moves" he has. Warrior could hold a man in the air like he was nothing. What Hart did? Standing bulldog, running bulldog, aha, armdrag, wow, snap suplex, back suplex, deathlock... yeah-yeah, riveting stuff. No wonder people tuned out when he became champion.
If I remember correctly, SNES version doesn't have a championship route. All you can do is play matches, and even then CPU pick opponents. What about Undertaker VS Hogan to relive those moments you saw on TV? Naaah, here's Typhoon for you. So, no finishers and no tournament mode with ending, I just don't think a 2 extra wrestlers were worth those sacrifices.
Wow, so another 2 points for the Mega Drive. For me, as a kid, I would have chosen the MD line up anyway I think. I loved the British Bulldog and Ultimate Warrior, wouldn't want to sacrifice them even for LOD (who I also loved) or the Undertaker. Wish they were all available in one game, probably a mod out there that includes them all...
HBK's finisher was called "The Teardrop Suplex!" It didn't last the longest, as it was just a backdrop variant, kinda dull. Hard to say which is better! They both had their benefits.
Correct, and that poor excuse for an adaptation on the game was definitely not the one Shawn Michaels used, it was more like a normal suplex landing the opponent on his hip. Should have been called "Hip replacement suplex". That told me the Flying Edge either couldn't be bothered, or didn't even watch wrestling.
I liked all the WWF games on the Genesis. Had all of them in case with manuals and would play them all the time. Great review, gonna check out your other videos!
Thank you for this 16-bit face-off! The Sega version is better overall, as a result of the finishers. The Super Nintendo has fantastic entrance themes though.😊
I had this exact game and I played it alot purely because I was a big wrestling fan at the time, but also appreciated that it had some flaws. It felt like a tech demo, an unfinished beta for a wrestling game, the moveset was limited and the environment and atmosphere was completely flat. WWF Royal Rumble was tons better and should have been the game that came out in the first place. In terms of roster, the SNES version had better character model variety in their picks, but the Mega Drive roster, though smaller, had the better mid card pick. Overall, the Mega Drive version suffered visually compared to the SNES, but was quicker and more responsive on the controls, not to mention again that at least there was some effort made with special move animations, even if not entirely real life accurate.
I will need to play Raw and see how it compares. I'm sort of familiar with Royal Rumble as I do own a copy but Super Wreslemania is the one that I have nostalgia for as it was my first WWF game. It's amazing to see how wrestling games developed later in the decade... With No Mercy and the Smackdown games...
I would have done anything for a wrestling game as a kid. When they finally started coming out in my early teens, I of course got my grubby mitts on most of them, but the quality of them put me off wrestling games for life. That Aklaim were at the WWF helm was the reason. I don't recall them ever developing a 'good' sports game. They were always the bottom team on the sports sim league table.
For the time it was very good. To be fair when it was made Shawn Michaels’s finisher was a side suplex. The best of these games are the Royal Rumble ones on both systems. Rage in the Cage would have been the best on the mega cd if it had tag team matches and the royal rumble options. Made no sense them modes not being in it.
@@danthegamingmanYT u should check it out ,Genesis vs SNES ,both have alot of same characters but they both have characters that the other version doesn't have
That's a tough question, I considered doing a video on that at some point. I suppose Saturday Night Slam Masters has to be up there. What do you think?
Which roster was better, Mega Drive or Snes?
SNES😊
Megadrive, you need the Ultimate Warrior man!

@bojcio As a kid, I would have wanted the version with Warrior and Bulldog for sure.
I really didn't care for this game as kid. Saturday Night Slam Masters was my favorite 16-bit wrestling game. Vote for Mike Haggar!
I've been thinking of doing a video on that at some point! 🤔
Slammasters plays more like a street fighter title well worth a play.
The moment you showed RGT’s face, I was finished watching.
Surely he isn't that off-putting? 😂
@@danthegamingmanYTlol yes. Yes he is 😂🤮

That's interesting, I wasn't aware that it had a name, Sweet Chin Music was a definite upgrade!

Would love to watch a comparison on all three games. Thanks for the video 👍
I'll look into that, thanks for the comment!

Yeah agreed. The finishers make it better though I'd like to have the Legion of Doom!

Yes unfortunately, the games weren't very good until the late 90s. And I had a PS1, I always felt very envious of my friends with their N64s!

Yeah, I'd like to have seen a game that included all modes, and all the superstars too.

Thanks!
Raw is a better version simply by having more options and buttons. Its not a significant improvement but its more playable.
I will definitely check it out, not sure I have played it before.
